Type Locality and Naming

Slope (-5 to -25 m depth) of the Bach Long Vi island (Pham Quang Trung and Nguyen Dich Dy, 1999).


Lithology and Thickness

According to the drilling results, it is 45-50 m of black-grey shale, siltstone and sandstone with veins of black coal; grading upwards into ash-grey siltstone with some interbeds of sandstone containing possibly oil-generating organic matter and thin coal lenses.
